Many U.S. military veterans—including those who served in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, or Coast Guard—may be eligible for in-home care benefits through the Veterans Administration (VA). Veterans may qualify for personal home care or health benefits if they meet one of the following criteria:
Served in active duty and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable
Current or former Reserves/National Guard members called to active duty (excluding training only) and completed the full term of service

Veterans receiving a VA pension may qualify if they need help with daily activities, are bed-bound, live in a nursing facility, or have limited eyesight.
Veterans with permanent disabilities who spend most of their time at home may qualify. Payments are typically added to the monthly pension.
Eligible veterans may receive in-home care hours through a service care coordinator, who helps connect families with caregivers in their area. These benefits are paid directly to partner organizations providing the care.
At UnaTrades Healthcare Solutions, we help veterans receive compassionate in-home care while guiding families through VA benefits like Aid and Attendance, Housebound, and Community Care Network programs. Our professional caregivers provide personalized support with bathing, grooming, companionship, meal preparation, and mobility assistance, ensuring your loved one remains safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
412-452-0672U.S. military veterans may qualify for personal care benefits through the Aid and Attendance or Housebound programs, as well as the Community Care Network. Aid and Attendance helps veterans who need assistance with daily activities, are bed-bound, live in a nursing home, or have limited eyesight. Housebound benefits support veterans who spend most of their time at home due to a permanent disability. Community Care Network benefits provide funding for in-home care through local partner organizations.
To apply, families or veterans should complete the VA Form 10-10EZ and submit it to the VA. Veterans can also visit a local Veterans Center and speak with a service coordinator, social worker, discharge planner, or case manager for guidance. Documentation verifying veteran status, medical needs, and financial information may be required.
The best time to apply is before care is needed. VA application processing can take time, and early application ensures benefits are available when your loved one requires in-home support, reducing out-of-pocket expenses.
UnaTrades Healthcare Solutions provides trained caregivers to deliver hands-on assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, toileting, and companionship. We also guide families through the VA application process and help connect veterans with applicable benefits.
The first step is to schedule a free in-home care consultation with one of our coordinators. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your loved one’s care needs, eligibility for VA benefits, and create a personalized care plan. Families can also learn which VA programs, such as Aid and Attendance or the Community Care Network, are applicable.
